A click!

There are times in life when simulation seems better than reality to the extent that one does not wish to come to terms with reality. Happy Reading!

A Click!

National University of Singapore, School of computing, Post-graduate, final semester, Matlab lecture hall was filled with enthusiastic students. Not because it was the most sought after subject but because of Professor Chaterjee, who made simulation as real as possible.

It was already fifteen minutes past the lecture and there entered a pretty Indian girl who seemed to be in such confusion. Who would not happily get distracted? All eyes in the class were glued on to the doorway. Many of them wished there was an empty seat beside. 'She had to be the studious kind', Arvind thought, who was seated in the last row.

Throughout the semester, this had become the ritual. She arriving late for the class and Arvind patiently waiting to get a glimpse of her. Six months passed thus. As if time would travel at the speed of light, those six months were frozen in Arvind’s heart.

Soon, it was graduation day. Arvind had made up his mind to talk to her that day. After the award ceremony, Arvind was pleasantly surprised when she approached him. His heart was thumping. His mind was at its ecstatic best. There was all sorts of good feelings that he had ever felt.

Dressed in a black graduation suit, she walked towards him with a camera in hand. She requested him with such sweetness, ‘a click please.‘ That was the first time she had ever spoken to Arvind.

There stood her husband and their two-year-old daughter at a distance, distancing Arvind from her forever!
